| E-Discovery Vendor Information Event Description Recent rule changes under federal law have now clarified requirements for electronic discovery. This new buzzword, also called e-Discovery, refers to any process in which electronic data is sought, located, secured, and searched with the intent of using it as evidence in a civil or criminal legal case. These new rules fundamentally shake-up the data retention and backup strategies of most companies, but most companies are still unaware of the change! Failure to comply can be expensive and career limiting. The CIO Forum of Northwest Ohio and the University of Toledo are jointly sponsoring a free seminar, "e-CSI Toledo" to address these new rules for e-Discovery on March 29th from 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in Nitschke Auditorium on the UT campus. The seminar will cover what every CEO, CIO, VP of HR, and corporate attorney should know to protect their business. The presentations will feature a mock deposition of a CIO, a review of the new rules by attorney Janet Hales of Cooper & Walinski, and a review of what businesses need to do to be ready by Gabrielle A. Finnan, Account Manager for Electronic Evidence Discovery, Inc. Special guest, U.S. District Court Judge James G. Carr, will discuss his interpretation of the impact of these rules. CLE credit is being applied for. This event has been approved for 2.25 CLE hours. Online registration for this event is now closed. Registration will be available at the door.
